朱镕基总理在提交九届全国人大四次会议审议的《国民经济和社会发展第十个五年计划纲要》报告中提出,“交通建设要统筹规划,合理安排,扩大网络,优化网络,优化结构,完善系统,推进改革,建立健全畅通、安全、便捷的现代综合运输体系”。在谈到交通建设的具体目标时,又提出“发展大城市轨道交通”。朱总理的讲话不仅是“十五”期间交通建设的指导方针,也是办好本刊的宗旨。

进行具体自主知识产权的科技创新,并加快科技成果向现实生产力转化,是我们的共同追求。本期沈景炎的《乘客动态分布与站台宽度的研究》以及两篇关于“Cheek方式列车运行控制系统”的论文,都是作者多年潜心研究所取得的成果。难能可贵的是,前者已应用于我国地铁车站的设计中;后者正上海市轨道交通明珠上使用。

of the 10th Five - Year Planning
(of National Economy and Social
Development)”presented to
the 4th Plenary Seesion of
the 9th National People's
Congress, Premier ZHU Rongji
pointed out that transport
development in China during
this 5 - year period should
be integrated in a unified
plan by optimizing its structure
and consummating the system,
so as to reach the goal of
safe, convenient and clear
modem transport. In talking
about concrete stops towards
this terminal, Premier ZHU
stressed the importance of“developing
urban mass transit in larger
cites”. His speech is not
only the guilding policy for
transport development in China
during the period if the 10th
Five - Year planning, buy
also our working direction
in editing this magazine.
How to make an overall and
rational plan for transport
development? To answer this
question, we first recommend
our readers to read an article
by HE Zonghua (Technical Strategy
for the Development of Urban
Rail Transit). And the article
by SONG Xiaojun (Retrospect
to Investment and Finance
Reform in Urban Transit) also
helps us to catch a glimpse
of the undergoing reform in
urban mass transit system
of China.
What we have been pursuing
is to apply achievements of
scientific research with our
own intellectual rights to
practice, to turn theories
into products within a shortest
possible cycle time. We edit
the articles of the“Research
for Dynamic Distribution of
passenger and the Width of
Platform”and“Train Running
Control System Based on Check
Mode”,not only because they
are the achievements of the
authors's perennial hard researches,
but also because they have
already become productive
forces. As having been seen,
the first research mentioned
above has been adopted in
the design of metro stations,
and second is now being employed
in Shanghai Pearl Line (the
1st elevated rail transit
in China).
International academic exchange
in the field of urban mass
transit is one of our main
works. In this issue we present
two articles with our readers,
both are the presentations
of Japanese Scholars at the
8th Tokyo - Shanghai Transport
and Economy Symposium. Please
read them and notice their
viewpoints .
