城市交通规划是城市规划的重要组成部分。由于交通具有先导性,正确的思路应该是“先修路、后建区”。关于这一点,请阅本期首推之作:周翊民的《对北京市城市交通发展规划的设想》。有关城市交通运输规划,还请阅读姜渝生、王小娥的大作《城市运输规划程序的分析与讨论》,该文不仅回顾总结了城市交通规划方法的由来与发展,并就实际作业中的若干不足提出了改进的建议。杨东援、韩皓的《四大都市轨道交通与交通结构分析》一文分析了经济发达国家大城市交通建设的经验,这有助于我们加深对于城市轨道交通规划的认识。
新世纪即将到来。21世纪中国的城市轨道交通建设将进入快车道。上海市轨道交通明珠线将于12月底投入试运行。这是我国目前第一条城市高架轨道交通线。上海市公交部门为保障市民在明珠线沿线各站点的换乘方便,还特地新辟、延伸、调整11条公路线路,以充分发挥大容量快速轨道交通的优势。本期编发了一组有关明珠线的论文及照片,以志庆贺。

The new century in
walking closer towards
us, and Chinese urban
rail transit construction
will enter a faster
traffic lane. Shanghai
Pearl Line——the first
elevated urban rail
traffic in China——will
start its test run by
the end of December,
2000. To fully demonstrate
the superiority of urban
mass transit in bigger
capacity and faster
speed, the authorities
of Shanghai public transportation
department have designed,
stretched or adjusted
11 bus lines to make
it more convenient for
the passengers to change
trains (buses) at each
station along the Pearl
Line. To this end, we
have edited a group
of articles and collected
photosof Shanghai Pearl
Line to express our
